Mountain Music

We spent the weekend in the North Georgia Mountains with Andy's family. Andy and Lucy spent the day together on Friday while I was in class. He picked me up at 3:30 and we were on our way. We got to the cabins at about 5 and spent the rest of the evening hanging out with everyone and eating BBQ. IT WAS HOT OUTSIDE!!!!

Saturday morning we woke up bright and early ate a little breakfast and headed tubbing while Muv watched Lucy. (I will spare you the pictures of me in my bathingsuit!)The river was CROWDED so we did not get back to the cabin until 3pm. After a quick BBQ sandwich we were on our way to Babyland General, aka home of the Cabbage Patch Doll. This is my faviorte part of the weekend! Lucy loved it. Daddy even got her a Babyland doll she picked out. He asked to change the outfit it was wearing to a duck outfit from another doll and they did, what a GREAT daddy! He took her up to the counter and got it's birth certifiate, he and Lucy :) named her baby Lyla. It was a memory I will cherish.

Sunday was our oldest nephew, Reese's, 6th birthday and we had a small party for him.

It was a relaxing weekend and a good break from school!

School

For the next 3 weeks I might be a little slow on the posts. I am going to Real Estate School! Exciting, yet surprisingly a lot of work! I think I forgot how to carry on an adult conversation and think outside of mickey mouse and dirty diapers, so this is good for me (or at least I keep telling myself that). It takes me about an hour and a half to drive back and forth each day :( plus all the studying, which means I don't have much time for any "extra" activities. I promise I will be back. On a side note we are going to the mountains with Andy's family this weekend (which has been planned for months), and my sister-in-law's 30th birthday party is next week Alice in Wonderland theme. I hope to be quick at least about those posts. Keep me in your prayers I am going to need it the next couple of weeks!
And just because she is so darn cute!

Friday Family Dinner

Our "extended" family tries to have dinner together once a week. (who am I kidding, I have dinner over at mom and dads almost every night Andy is at work :)) This week we decided to enjoy the nice (but hot) weather and had a picnic at Line Creek. It took a short golf cart ride and hike to get to the perfect spot but once we were there it was so pretty. Evelyn is into bugs right now so she had a blast trying to find them. Both girls enjoyed splashing in the puddles and Evelyn even found a dead fish (yuck) that she kept trying to scoop out of the puddle with a fly swatter, priceless.

Greatest single Uncle in the World

If you like pina colada's and getting caught in the rain... Just kidding. Met my brother Brian and the greatest uncle in the world! He is in his final year of medical school at St. Louis University but could end up with a residency anywhere in the US. He has spent a year doing research in Italy and got his masters degree in Berlin. He has never been married and is a GREAT catch. He loves to cook and loves to make Italian food. He has a great sense of humor. He loves to sing songs from old musicals and Breakfast at Tiffany's is his favorite movie. He remains an ardent Gilmore Girls fan...

This is why he is the greatest:

Stone Mountain

The last day of their visit the girls did a little shopping in "downtown" Senoia while the boys did some more swimming. (I use the word downtown with a smile, we do have the Southern Living Idea House right now which is a lot of fun!)

Later on in the day they packed up and we all headed over to Stone Mountain to see the laser show. We thought the evening activities were going to be rained out, but it only ended up raining about an hour and it cooled off enough to be a really fun night. We road the train around the mountain, had dinner then watched the laser show.

The Georgia Aquarium

After 2 relaxing days at home we decided to venture out on Monday we visited the Georgia Aquarium. Lucy's LOVED it just as much as last time. The girls wore their matching outfits and we had a fun filled day.

Kanji

Kanji means family in Japaneses which is fitting because Andy's brothers family visited us for a few days this week. They will be leaving soon to be stationed in Okinawa Japan. We had a wonderful time! The first day they got here was spent swimming and letting the little girls (Lucy and little Evie) play in the playroom. Saturday evening we had a low country boil, we ended up in the garage because of a late afternoon pop up storm.

Dinner was closely followed by a fun bath for both girls given by their daddy's. It's so funny to see both girls in the bath, because although their daddies are brothers they look nothing alike!

(Notice in the background Lucy's toilet is going to be a throne, it's a work in progress)

The next day was more swimming, video games, a little Mickey Mouse and Elmo for the girls and some snuggling with Muv. For dinner we had BBQ and watched the Princess and the Frog on the outdoor screen.

The Disney Plan

About a week ago I woke up at 5:30 (yes, that is am!) to head over to my parents house. It was 180 till our Disney vacation (December 19-26) and we could make reservations starting at 7am! My mom, Tiffany and I had come up with our game plan the day before, we knew what restaurants we wanted and the approximate time we wanted them. I had read up a bit about getting the more difficult reservations and I was prepared (or so I thought). As I was pulling out of my driveway (which is now a 15 minute ride) I get a frantic phone call saying my mom had been making reservations online since 5am, WHERE WAS I?!!! After politely :) replying, we said 6, I made my way quickly to her house. Since we have a party of ten we thought we could only call to make reservations, not so, It's more than ten (IE 11 people). We got all the ones we wanted despite the rushing :) I did have to call for some, 3 of the days we are there we have a party of 12 and Cinderellas Royal Table you have to call no matter what the number in your party. I felt so rude when I called I did not even let the cast member finish her good morning (blah, blah, blah) I interrupted and said I needed December 22 party of 12 for Cinderella's Royal table. Some of the restaurants are, Chef Mickey, Le Cellar, Mickey Backyard BBQ, Jinko, The Brown Derby, Ashkers (2 times), Whispering Canyon, and a number of others!

We are staying at Saratoga Springs in the new Tree House Villa's. (SUPER Excited) My mom, dad, brother, sister in law, niece (3), brother, me, Andy and Lucy will all be going! Andy, myself, brother's and sister in law are driving down December 17th to go to Universal (Harry Potter).

Now to start planning Lucy's outfits

Happy 3rd of July

Peachtree City Georgia, golf cart capital of the world. Where else would you find golf cart traffic jams?! July 4th is celebrated in a big way in my hometown. The morning begins with a terrific parade (even though a lot of politicians slip in) filled with decorated golf cart entries and golf carts lining the street. To cap the day off a spectacular firework display is set off. I was afraid Lucy would be scared, but she loved them. We did have to sit in a line of about 300 golf carts an hour and a half to get home :)
