Amanda Remembered

I am fortunate enough (although my husband would beg to differ) to live about 45min away from the Amanda Remembered warehouse. They have the cutest smocked dresses and bubbles for little girls. Every once in awhile they open their warehouse to the public. I get super excited about these sales. This is the only time I can afford their clothing! I went back in the summer and got her Thanksgiving outfit brand new for $20, I saw it sold on eBay for $79! (Note to self I need to buy extra and sell on eBay) Last month they were open again and Tiffany and I drove down and got the girls Easter and Christmas (next year) outfits for under $100 for all four! So very cute.

Not on the coffee table!

One of Lucy's favorite pastimes is coloring. She is pretty good and only occasionally mostly gets it on my coffee table. She prefers to color on the coffee table usually it's because she is too busy watching something else and not the colors.

Her new words have been turning into new sentences this week. She says "Hold me", "Right here", "I Luv U" and "Where (inset whatever she is looking for)" Do you see a theme with bossing people around ?! She is getting to be such a big girl and can communicate so well with us now.

The Big 2

We have two new loves in our house:

She adores her little figures and if she can't find one she will go around shrugging her shoulders asking "Where?" She especially likes June, what girl wouldn't, and says her name perfectly.

I know. She loves him. It pains me to say, but he is the man.
Which brings me to my second big 2.
For Lucy 2nd birthday I was all geared up to do a Teddy Bear(baby) Tea Party. This momma was super excited about it! However, as much as Lucy likes tea and her babies, she loves the big purple guy even more. So I have switched gears and am now beginning work on a Barney bounce party. His stuff is just sooo not cute. Wish me luck.

Broken

Well my camera is broke. Again.

So I have to resort to pictures I already have on the computer.

My second favorite consignment sale was this week and I got some great deals; I outfitted Lucy for most of the spring and summer. We made it a "date" day. Our sweet friends Jay and Heather drove with us, they have a three year old and a 3 week old. We shopped from 9am till 2pm, the guys were real troopers. The lady who checked us out asked how in the world do I get my husband to help, I told her "to him it is a competitive sport!" Tiffany got some great things for Evelyn and Amara was shopping for sweet Lory. We all got lunch at a local Mexican restaurant and were home by 4:30.

This is an outfit I got at the fall/winter sale.

Since I have been trying to put all of Miss's new thing away I thought I would share this tip.

I use lingerie bags to organize Lucy's toys. I don't worry when she puts her whole head in there to dig something out like I would with a plastic bag and they are more durable. They work great to keep little pieces together. It is a bit of an investment to buy them at first but it is worth it.

Weather

This was the view off of the back deck this morning.

This is the kind of snow I like, pretty, did not touch the roads, and melted by noon.

All I heard from Lucy today from the time she woke up was CUPCAKE and PARK. These are usually the first words out of her mouth in the morning. Seriously her eyes open and she has not even made it to the sitting position and she says cupcake..... Park.  So to the park we went. Can you tell she loves it!

Funny Girl

What Lucy is up to:

-She can unscrew the knobs on my kitchen cabinets. She takes them off and brings them to me saying uh-oh.

-She can open "child proof" prescription bottles. Lucky for me I found that out with an empty one.

- She loves to tell me to TOP ("Stop" in Lucy speak). Yes, Miss Attitude will tell me to stop if she does not like something.

- She is VERY picky about her car music, and when a new song comes on she will scream at the top of her lungs NO. I very calmly remind her with every new song it is No Please (Oh yeah...No Feez). Eventually we will find a song she likes.

-"Corn" (Popcorn) is her favorite food and she will ask for it day and night or at any store with a snack bar.

-She loves to have tea parties.

-She loves her babies and almost everything is a baby. Today, she hugged a decorative stone duck at Haverty's that was a "baby."

-She counts to six. However, she cheats and goes, "Two, four, six." She doesn't like odd numbers.

-She is both terrified and very curious about bugs. Any mysterious speck on the carpet could be a bug. First she whines then she has to investigate. She always "finds" one in the bath, mostly its lint.

-She comforts herself by comforting others. If a scary show comes on the TV she will hug Daddy and pat his back while saying, "K"

-Her favorite Disney characters of the moment are "Fooey" a.k.a. Goofy and "Minnie".

-She loves the Little Einstein’s and she likes to fly SUPER-FAST and can Pat/Clap/Pat/Clap.

-However, Barney (sometimes pronounced Marney) is still the ultimate favorite. She has to hug someone when the "I Love You" song comes on.

-She will take her squeaky shoes off and put them on her hands and make them squeak by clapping.

-There's always room for cheese and chips in her little belly.

-She loves cupcakes and every sweet item (cookies, ice cream) is a cupcake. If you give her a choice of what to wear she will pick out her cupcake PJ's. I think her first real word was cupcake.

Mommy and Daddy don't want to forget all the fun things you are doing right now! We love you!

10 Years

Andy and I went on our first date 10 years ago. I was 18 and he was 21. We were both attending Georgia College and State University; I was a freshman, he was a junior.  We met for the first time when I came over to his house for dinner. He shared a house with two girls he went to high school with, one of which was my "Grandma" in Phi Mu. She asked me if he could have my number the next day, but it took a few days for me to give it to her :) We had lunch at a little bistro, Brewer's, near the college and talked for two hours. I guess the rest is history.

Our first picture taken a week after our first date at the Phi Mu Crush Party. (geez do we look young!)

Us 10 years later out to dinner at the melting pot. (we were sitting on opposite sides of the table)

Here are a few of my favorites from in between:

Us on our way to Hawaii for our one year wedding Anniversary.

Andy's graduation from the police academy.

On top of the Sagrada Família in Barcelona before our Mediterranean cruise.

 My college graduation.

In Key West on our honeymoon.

Happy Birthday Marmee!

This years Superbowl party was held at our house. The girls had a blast bouncing on the trampoline and playing dress up (and busting a few moves during half time).

My mom's birthday was last week, Mom, Tiffany and I spent the day shopping at the America's Mart and going to lunch. We found a boutique that was going out of business and all of their designer clothes were $5. We saved the cake and presents for last night. I don’t' think I could of eaten anything else, on the menu was taco soup, wings and meatball sliders and of course cake (I won't go into the grape chutney :).

Getting cake while Marmee is not looking!

Lucy's vocabulary has been picking up a lot lately. Her new big thing is calling for HELP. We took her to the playground at McDonalds because it has been raining so much here. She got her leg caught in a net and yelled really loud, HELP STUCK! Although her favorite word is still NO!
