Unattended

This is what happens when you leave Lucy unattended for 30 seconds.....

I guess this calls for a new paint hiding place.

School Girl

Lucy looked like such a big girl with her Minnie Mouse bookbag on! She insisted on carrying her lunch box as well she said, "heavy momma" when I handed it to her. She walked in the building so proud, but got a little nerves hearing all the other kids crying (and I mean ALL the other kids) Andy looked in after I left and he said she was the ONLY one not crying and screaming bloody murder :( He said they were still crying when he picked her up four hours later! Say a little prayer for Lucy's teachers. Andy arrived a little early to pick her up and got some video of her playing on the playground. The teacher got them all into a line turned her attention to one of the other kids and off Lucy went to slide again, you can hear Andy say, "Teacher, I think you forgot one!" :) My little Miss independent! She kept telling Andy, "babies crying". One of her teachers called later in the afternoon to say what a joy she was and such a smart little girl :)

Open House is going to be fun!

I knew school would be a great experience for Lucy, but I found out just how great when we first stepped into the building. The director of the preschool was standing at the door greeting people and she turned to us and asked, "Hi, what's your name?" Lucy looked right up at her, "My names Lucy, I'm going to school, this is going to be fun!" The director just laughed and smiled at her! We found her room and went inside the teacher bent down to ask her what her name was and she got a little shy, but I was very impressed when she immediately said, "We have baby dolls do you want to play?" Lucy didn't even have time to grab my leg, she answered with a very enthusiastic YES.  More children entered the room and I took Lucy to use the potty before we left for a parent meeting in another room, the teachers were amazed that she was potty trained. She was so comfortable, I wish I could say the same for all the kids! There are 2 girls and 6 boys in her room and some of the boys were having severe separation anxiety. I am excited for Lucy as she starts this new journey!

The Study of Weather

What have I been up to that I am so busy I can't blog? Becoming a meteorologist, no really. I am going to school to become a flight dispatcher. Ever since I stopped working at the airport I have missed it (and the flight benefits :) I'm super excited about the job but I have to make it through five more weeks of class first and we have a test almost every day. With a final given by the FAA and THEN I can apply for a job. So wish me luck, because you won't be hearing much from me until the beginning of October.
Before I started school we had a fun play date at our house with the Rusk girls while their mommy was at work. Lucy has became such a little fish this summer.

Broken Record

So this is what happens when I try to take a picture lately....

Yep, not a happy camper. She even runs for the door.

Sorry my blogging has been lacking lately. We have been lazy, lazy and I feel like a broken record this summer. I got a letter in the mail about open house for Lucy's school today and I start school on Monday :) I will let you know about that later. (and I got her first day of school outfit, to die for)
So things should start picking up again and maybe I will get a little motivation. Hang in there with me.
