Ham

Sunday after the wedding we had brunch at my cousins house she has two little girls and the house is VERY kid friendly. Lucy enjoyed the play time with all of their toys, mommy enjoyed a break from entertaining her.

ZOO

While we were in St. Louis we visited the zoo. If you live near there go!!! It's free to get in (some of the attractions cost money). Lucy loved the train, the carousel and the petting zoo. She had so much fun she fell asleep in the wagon, but woke up in time to eat lots of cotton candy.

Dancing Queen

We spent most of the week having fun at Uncle Brian's place. He is in his radiology rotation right now and was done with school by 3pm most days. We brought a small play castle that was set up in the living room. We had wedding events most nights; Thursday we went to a chocolate restaurant with family, Friday was the bridal shower and Saturday was the wedding.
At the wedding Lucy danced and danced and danced she was up till 11:30 Atlanta time which is wayyyyyy past her bedtime. I wish I would of taken video of her, she even got into the middle of a dance circle and shook her "bunny".
Okay their is an explanation behind the "family" picture, Andy had to work so we have a cardboard "Andy" from his 30th birthday party and we took it with us. We photographed him doing different things so we could show him how much we missed him (I think everyone had a little too much fun with it)!

Clown car

We started out the week with a 10 hour car ride to St. Louis for a wedding. Andy and I took Lucy to the park and to get cupcakes before she was trapped in the car for so long. Later in the afternoon Andy got the “honor” of loading up my mom’s car for us girls (yep all 5 of us) he said we had a suburban’s worth of stuff in a Tuson which was not far from the truth (what can I say we ARE girls!). We had a car top carrier stuffed to the brim and none of us would open the trunk for fear we could not close it again! We drove to Clarksville TN which is about half way and stayed for the night, the next morning we drove the other five hours. The girls were very well behaved for being stuck in a car for so long, by the time we got there I could not stomach hearing the wheels on the bus one more time!!

Before getting into the car.

Packing up

Lucy and I are getting ready for a week long trip to St. Louis. It's my brothers 30th birthday in a few weeks and one of my cousins is getting married. We have a lot of fun things planned and I am so excited to go. As I was packing my stuff I thought I would share this tip; I am not good at a whole lot of things but after traveling for 5 years straight I had to be good at packing. So here is what I do to avoid putting Lucy and myself in the wrong accessories/outfit. It works out great, if I'm in a hurry someone else can dress Lucy and I'm not worried that she will have red socks on with white tights (you know who you are)!

I start out by putting together the whole outfit top, pants, socks, hat/hair bow (or both) and folding it all together as most people do, but then I place it all in a zip lock bag and put my knee on it to get all the air out. When I take the things out they spring back to life. All the items stay together and whoever is dressing Lucy knows what should go together, not to mention it takes up less space in the bag and you don't make a mess trying to dig to the bottom of the bag in search of a hair bow. I do the same thing for me with top, pants, necklaces, underwear.

This bag has: jeans, shirt, socks, bow and a hat.

Pickin Cotton

Lucy had such a great weekend! Saturday morning Lucy and I woke up bright and early and went to Marmee and Poppa's house. Poppa watched Lucy so my mom and I could go to the Cotton Picking Fair kid free while Andy worked. We got to the fair at 8:00am and had such a great time shopping! We were mostly looking for accessories for Disney (hair bows and necklaces) but we also got a couple other cute items. We finished up and got to my mom and dads house at about 11am and I took Lucy home for her nap. At 1pm Andy and his mom got to the house and all four of us went back to the fair! We had to wait an hour in line to enter this time! Andy got four really neat citronella candles in wine glasses for outside and we ate BBQ and Kettle corn. Lucy enjoyed the cloggers on stage and made a mad dash to join them clapping and dancing the whole way. She would of made it if mommy was not so quick on her feet :) Have I said lately, SHE IS A MESS!!!!

New and Old

It's Friday and that means it's show us your life time, this week it's dinning rooms. I will show pictures from both houses :) because I love our old dinning room and our new one is a work in progress, again. The one thing I am really proud of is the new table, it was $400 at a local antique store. The buffet and the mirror are from Kmart. The black hutch is from big lots I just painted it and the buffet black to match. Both tea sets were gifts from my mom; The one in the dinning room was a wedding gift and Lucy got her set on her first birthday.

This is what it looked like a few months ago.

And here it is before my sister-in-laws 30th birthday.

This is at our old house. One day it will be ready again...

Lucy has a matching smaller silver tea set in her room.
