In His time

So I am going to talk about something that most people, including me, just don’t talk about… or at least in my world they don’t talk about it… I have had two miscarriages. This time of year is a bit hard for me now. The first baby was due on 12/25/08. Andy and I went in at 13 weeks for a routine appointment and the baby had lost its heartbeat somewhere in week 11. I had to go in for surgery on June 25, 2008 to have a D&C. I became a hermit for about two weeks and lived like a zombie for awhile after that first loss, but it’s funny how God works out his own plans for you and they aren't always what or when you expect them , my sweet Lucy was born on June 25, 2009. I think the first time you are pregnant you're blissfully unaware about all that can go wrong. The second miscarriage happened at home at about 7 weeks in August of 2008. After that second time I told Andy I would never ever go through that pain again. But again it’s funny how God works… Andy’s aunt worked at a fertility clinic and she introduced us to the kindest doctor in the entire world. He told me not to get pregnant until he had run tests… Yep, 2 days later I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! Andy was still asleep when I woke him by asking, "Does this say positive?" We were about to leave to go to Europe the next day and they fit me into their busy schedules that day and put me on five different medications. That trip was just what I needed to take my mind off of the agonizing wait to see if the medications would work. Well the rest is history… (Although it was a very long 9 months). I am so glad I did not give up! So there it is. Something very few people know about me. But I think it is important to talk about. Just something to make you think and, perhaps, give you hope.
